Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5025 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ كِتَابَ اللهِ وَعِتْرَتِي فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ تَخْلُفُونِي فِيهِمَا» قُلْنَا وَمَنْ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ؟ قَالَ «آلُ عَلِيٍّ وَآلُ جَعْفَرٍ وَآلُ عَقِيلٍ وَآلُ الْعَبَّاسٍ»
English Translation
Zayd ibn Arqam said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I am leaving among you two weighty things: the Book of Allah and my progeny. See how you treat them after me." We asked: "Who are the members of his household?" He said: "The family of 'Ali, the family of Ja'far, the family of 'Aqil, and the family of al-'Abbas."
