English Translation
Zayd ibn Thabit said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made an enclosure of mats — or a room — in the mosque, and he prayed in it for several nights until some people gathered behind him. Then one night they did not hear his voice and thought he was sleeping, so they cleared their throats. He came out to them and said: 'I have not ceased to see what you have been doing. The best prayer of a man is in his house — except the obligatory prayer.'"
