English Translation
Al-Rabi' ibn Zibar said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have a neighbor — he describes him — shall I respond to him (in kind)?" He said: "Bear with patience." Then he came again and said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I respond to him?" He said: "Bear with patience." Then he came a third time. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Place your possessions in the street." So the people began asking: "What is wrong?" He said: "My neighbor is such-and-such." The people began cursing the (bad) neighbor.
