Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:423 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ يَقُولُ نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَجَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَتَحَدَّثَ مَا قَضَى لَهُ فَلَمَّا قَامَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ مَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَتْ دِحْيَةُ قَالَتْ وَلَايْمُ اللهِ مَا حَسِبْتُهُ إِلَّا دِحْيَةَ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ بِخَبَرِ جِبْرِيلَ ﷺ قَالَ مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ أَبِي لِأَبِي عُثْمَانَ مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَهُ؟ قَالَ مِنْ أُسَامَةَ
English Translation
Abu 'Uthman al-Nahdi narrated: I was told that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was with Umm Salamah when Jibril (peace be upon him) came and conversed as Allah willed. When he stood up, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked: "O Umm Salamah, who is this?" She said: "Dihyah." She added: "By Allah, I thought he was none other than Dihyah until I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) speaking in his sermon about the news from Jibril." Mu'tamir said: My father asked Abu 'Uthman, "From whom did you hear this?" He said: "From Usamah."
