English Translation
Khubayb ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Khubayb narrated from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) set out for a campaign, and I and a man from my people came and said: "We would be ashamed if our people witness a battle that we do not participate in." He said: "Have you become Muslims?" We said: "No." He said: "We do not seek the help of polytheists." So we accepted Islam and participated with him. A man from the polytheists struck me on my shoulder, and I killed him. Later I married his daughter, and she would say: "May you never lack a man who gave you this sash (scar)!" And I would say to her: "May you never lack a man who hastened your father to the Fire!"
