Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:4147 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ الْمِصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ خَوَّاتِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ مَاتَ رَجُلٌ وَأَوْصَى إِلَيَّ فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ أُمُّ وَلَدِهِ وَامْرَأَةٌ حُرَّةٌ فَوَقَعَ بَيْنَ أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ كَلَامٌ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا الْمَرْأَةُ يَا لَكْعَاءُ غَدًا يُؤْخَذُ بِأُذُنِكِ فَتُبَاعِينَ فِي السُّوقِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «لَا تُبَاعُ»
English Translation
Khawwat ibn Jubayr reported: A man died and made me his executor. Among what he left was his umm walad (slave woman who bore him children) and a free woman. A dispute arose between the umm walad and the free woman. The free woman said to her: "O worthless one! Tomorrow you will be grabbed by the ear and sold in the market." I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said: "She is not to be sold."
