Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3949 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَلْتَقِيَانِ فَيَصُدُّ هَذَا وَيَصُدُّ هَذَا وَخَيْرُهُمَا الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ بِالسَّلَامِ»
English Translation
Abu Ayyub al-Ansari narrated - I believe he attributed it to the Prophet (peace be upon him) - that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a Muslim to shun his brother for more than three days. They meet, and this one turns away and that one turns away. The better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting of peace."
