English Translation
Khabbab ibn al-Aratt said: No one was able to withhold what the polytheists demanded of them on the day they tortured them except Khabbab ibn al-Aratt. They used to lay him on burning coals, yet they could not get anything from him. When his shroud was brought and white Egyptian cloth was spread over him, he wept. They asked: 'Why do you weep, O Abu 'Abdullah, when you are a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?' He said: 'I remembered Mus'ab ibn 'Umayr who did not hasten to enjoy any of his worldly pleasures. He was shrouded in a single cloak, and nothing else was found to shroud him in. When we covered his head with it, his feet would be exposed, and when we covered his feet, his head would be exposed, until we placed idhkhir grass and other vegetation over him.'
