English Translation
Habib ibn Maslamah al-Fihri, whose prayers were answered, was appointed over an army and he passed through the mountain passes. When he encountered the enemy, he said to the people: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: No group gathers where some of them supplicate and the rest say Amin except that Allah answers them.' Then he praised Allah and glorified Him and said: 'O Allah, preserve our blood and make our reward the reward of martyrs.' While they were like that, the hinbat (commander) of the enemy came down and entered Habib's pavilion. Abu al-Qasim said: 'Al-hinbat in Byzantine means the commander of the army.'
