Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3356 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ابْنِ الْغَسِيلِ حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ وَكَانَ أَبُوهُ بَدْرِيًّا أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُوَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُمْ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى الْبَيْعَةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْ هَذَا قَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَ هَذَا ابْنُ عَمِّي حَوْطُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَوْ يَزِيدُ بْنُ حَوْطٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا أُبَايِعُكُمْ إِنَّ النَّاسَ يُهَاجِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَلَا تُهَاجِرُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ رَجُلٌ حَتَّى يَلْقَى اللهَ إِلَّا لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّهُ وَلَا يُبْغِضُ الْأَنْصَارَ رَجُلٌ حَتَّى يَلْقَى اللهَ لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ يُبْغِضُهُ»
English Translation
Narrated al-Harith ibn Ziyad al-Sa'idi: He came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Day of the Trench while he was pledging allegiance to people upon the Hijrah. We thought they were being called to give the pledge. He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, accept the pledge of this man.' He said, 'Who is this?' He said, 'This is my cousin, Hawt ibn Yazid, or Yazid ibn Hawt.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'I will not accept your pledge. The people emigrate to you, but you do not emigrate to them.' Then he said, 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, no man loves the Ansar and then meets Allah except that Allah will meet him with love, and no man hates the Ansar and then meets Allah except that Allah will meet him with hatred.'
