Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3116 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَزَّازُ قَالَا ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ ثنا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا قَالَ هَمَّامٌ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِي يَخْتَارُ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا بُورِكَ لَهُمَا فِي بَيْعِهِمَا وَإِنْ كَذَبَا وَكَتَمَا فَعَسَى أَنْ يَرْبَحَا رِبْحًا وَيُمْحَقَا بَرَكَةَ بَيْعِهِمَا
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The two parties in a sale have the option as long as they have not separated." Hammam said: I found in my book: "He (the buyer) has the choice up to three times. If they are truthful and clear, their sale will be blessed. But if they lie and conceal, they may gain a profit, but the blessing of their sale will be wiped out."
