Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2757 سُوَيْدُ بْنُ غَفَلَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ ��ْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ قَالَ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ خَلِيفَةَ الْخَثْعَمِيَّةُ عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَلَمَّا أُصِيبَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ وَبُويِعَ لِلْحَسَنِ ؓ بِالْخِلَافَةِ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ لِتُهْنِكَ الْخِلَافَةُ فَقَالَ
English Translation
Suwayd ibn Ghafalah said: 'A'ishah bint Khalifah al-Khath'amiyyah was married to al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). When 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck and al-Hasan was pledged the caliphate, she came to him and said: "Congratulations on the caliphate!" He replied [with a response indicating he was not joyful because of his father's death].
