Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2725 حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ غُلَيْبٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ ثنا بَكَّارُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنْ هُبَيْرَةَ بْنِ يَرِيمَ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ؓ لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ قَامَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ قُبِضَ فِيكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُ��ٌ لَمْ يَسْبِقْهُ الْأَوَّلُونَ وَلَا يُدْرِكُهُ الْآخِرُونَ قَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَبْعَثُهُ الْمَبْعَثَ فَيَكْتَنِفُهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَمِيكَائِيلُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ لَا يَنْثَنِي حَتَّى يُفْتَحَ لَهُمْ مَا تَرَكَ إِلَّا سَبْعَ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْتَاعَ بِهَا خَادِمًا وَقَدْ قُبِضَ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الَّتِي عَرَجَ فِيهَا عِيسَى بْنُ مَرْيَمَ لَيْلَةِ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ
English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O people, tonight there has been taken from you a man who was not preceded by the earlier ones nor will be reached by the later ones. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would send him on expeditions, with Jibril flanking him on his right and Mika'il on his left. He would not turn back until victory was given to them. He left behind nothing except seven hundred dirhams with which he intended to buy a servant. He was taken on the night in which 'Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary) ascended — the night of the twenty-seventh of Ramadan."
