Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1903 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ثنا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ؓ قَالَ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَشْكَلَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ قُلْتُ لِسِمَاكٍ مَا أَشْكَلُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ؟ قَالَ «بَاذَامٌ جُشْمٌ»
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had a wide mouth (shal'ah), wide eyes (ashkal), and slender heels (manhus al-'aqibayn)." Shu'bah said: I asked Simak: "What does shal'ah mean?" He said: "Wide mouth." I asked: "What does ashkal mean?" He said: "Wide-eyed." I asked: "What does manhus al-'aqibayn mean?" He said: "Slender heels."
