English Translation
Jundub ibn Makith al-Juhani narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent 'Abdullah ibn Ghalib al-Laythi on an expedition, and I was among them. He ordered them to attack Banu al-Mulawwah at al-Kadid. So we set out. When we reached al-Kadid, we met al-Harith ibn al-Barsa' al-Laythi, and we seized him. He said: "I have only come wanting to accept Islam." 'Abdullah ibn Ghalib said: "If he is a Muslim, these bonds will not harm him for a day and a night. And if he is otherwise, we will have restrained him." So we tied him to a tree, and we sent a man ahead as a lookout. He came back running and said: "I have seen the people. They have been alerted." So we continued and reached them, and they had gathered. We called them to Islam, but they did not accept. Then we charged at them and fought them. The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fought. When he said: "When we called them to Islam they refused," then they were overpowered.
