Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1676 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جُنْدُبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ هَلْ كُنْتُمْ تُسَخِّرُونَ الْعَجَمَ؟ قَالَ «كُنَّا نُسَخِّرُهمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ إِلَى قَرْيَةٍ يَدُلُّونا عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ ثُمَّ نُخَلِّيهِمْ»
English Translation
Abu 'Imran said: I asked Jundub ibn 'Abdullah, "Did you used to conscript the non-Arabs?" He said: "We used to conscript them from village to village so they could guide us along the road, then we would release them."
