Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:158 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الصَّقْرِ السُّكَّرِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ عَنِ الْوَاقِدِيِّ قَالَ يُقَالُ «كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ آدَمَ رَبْعَةً مُسْمِنًا ضَخْمَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ طَوِيلَ اللِّحْيَةِ أَصْلَعَ عَظِيمَ الْبَطْنِ غَلِيظَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ أَبْيَضَ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ»
English Translation
Ali ibn Abi Talib was dark-complexioned, of medium height, stout, with large shoulders, a wide and thick beard. He was bald on the front of his head with remaining hair around the sides. He was as if dyed with wasmah (indigo).
