حَدَّثَنَا بُهْلُولُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ بُهْلُولٍ الْأَنْبَارِيُّ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى بْنِ أَبِي الْمُسَاوِرِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِهِ «أَنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَى قُرَيْشٍ فَأُخْبِرَهُمْ» فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ فَكَذِّبُوهُ وَصَدَّقَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَسُمِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ الصِّدِّيقُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِهِ «أَنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَى قُرَيْشٍ فَأُخْبِرَهُمْ» فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ فَكَذِّبُوهُ وَصَدَّقَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَسُمِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ الصِّدِّيقُ
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said when he was taken on the Night Journey: 'I want to go out to the Quraysh and tell them.' So he told them, and they denied him, but Abu Bakr believed him. From that day, he was called al-Siddiq (the Truthful).
