Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1435 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِينَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ يَضْمَنُ لِي خَلَّةً فَأَضْمَنَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ؟» قُلْتُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «لَا تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا» قَالَ «فَإِنْ كَانَ ثَوْبَانُ لَيَسْقُطُ سَوْطُهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ فَيَذْهَبُ الرَّجُلُ يُنَاوِلُهُ فَيُنِيخُ بَعِيرَهُ فَيَأْخُذُ سَوْطَهُ»
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Who will guarantee for me one quality, and I will guarantee Paradise for him?" I said: "I will, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Do not ask people for anything." So Thawban's whip would fall while he was on his camel, and a man would go to hand it to him, but he would make his camel kneel and take his whip himself.
