Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1371 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ أَصَبْنَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ غَنَمًا فَانْتَهَبَهَا النَّاسُ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقُدُورُهُمْ تَغْلِي فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» فَقَالُوا نُهْبَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «أكْفِئُوها فَإِنَّ النُّهْبَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ فَكَفَئُوا مَا بَقِيَ فِيهَا»
English Translation
Tha'labah ibn al-Hakam said: On the Day of Khaybar we captured some sheep, and the people seized them (as plunder without authorization). The Prophet (peace be upon him) came while their pots were boiling and said: "What is this?" They said: "Plunder (seized without authorization), O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Overturn them, for plunder is not lawful." So they overturned whatever was in them.
