Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11854 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ مَنْسُوخَةً كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا يُطَوَّقُونَهُ هِيَ فِي الشَّيْخِ الْكَبِيرِ الَّذِي يُكَلَّفُ الصِّيَامَ وَلَا يُطِيقُهُ فَيُفْطِرُ وَيُطْعِمُ»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas said: 'It is not abrogated. He used to recite it as "they are burdened with it." It applies to the very old person who is obligated to fast but cannot do so; he breaks his fast and feeds (a poor person instead).'
