Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11743 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اشْتَرَى عِيرًا قَدِمَتْ فِيهَا أَوَاقٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا عَلَى أَرَامِلِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَالَ «لَا أشْتُرِي شَيْئًا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) purchased a caravan that contained ounces of gold, and he gave them in charity to the widows of Banu Abd al-Muttalib, and said: 'I shall not purchase anything for which I do not have the price.'
