Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11525 حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ رَكِبَ وَأَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يَجْمَعَهَا مَعَ الْعَصْرِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ وَقَدْ زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ وَقْتَ الْمَغْرِبِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ قَبْلَ وَقْتِ الْمَغْرِبِ أَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَجْمَعَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْعِشَاءِ»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him), when he wanted to ride before the sun had passed its zenith, would ride and delay the Zuhr prayer until he could combine it with the Asr prayer. When he wanted to ride after the sun had passed its zenith, he would combine the Zuhr and Asr prayers before riding. When he wanted to ride at the time of Maghrib, he would pray Maghrib and Isha before riding. And when he wanted to ride before the time of Maghrib, he would delay Maghrib until he could combine it with Isha.
