English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that when he stood at night (for prayer), he would say the takbir and then say: 'O Allah, to You belongs all praise, Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. To You belongs all praise, Light of the heavens and the earth. To You belongs all praise, Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. You are the Truth, and Your word is truth, and Your promise is truth, and Your meeting is truth, and Paradise is truth, and the Fire is truth, and the Hour is truth. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned in repentance, by You I have argued, and to You I have referred for judgment. You are our Lord, and to You is the return. My Lord, forgive me what I have concealed and what I have declared, what I have done before and after. You are my God; there is no deity except You.'
