Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10759 حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَلَا أُرِيَكُمْ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَاغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَجَمَعَ بِهَا يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ قَبَضَ قَبْضَةً مِنَ الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ خَفَضَ يَدَهُ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ وَأُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَرَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَفِيهِمَا النَّعْلُ وَالْيُسْرَى مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَسَحَ بِأَسْفَلِ النَّعْلَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا
English Translation
Ibn Abbas said: 'Shall I not show you how the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to perform ablution?' He called for a vessel of water. He scooped up one handful and rinsed his mouth and nose. Then he took another and joined both hands and washed his face. Then he took another and washed his right hand. Then he scooped up another handful and washed his left hand. Then he took a handful of water and lowered his hand, wiping his head and ears with it. Then he scooped another handful and sprinkled it on his feet while wearing sandals, and likewise for the left foot, and he wiped the bottom of the sandals. Then he said: 'This is how it was done.'
