Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10710 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَاعَنَ بَيْنَ الْعَجْلَانِيِّ وَامْرَأَتِهِ وَكَانَتْ حُبْلَى وَقَالَ زَوْجُهَا وَاللهِ مَا قَرِبْتُهَا مُنْذُ عَفَرْنَا النَّخْلَ الْعَفْرُ سَقْيُ النَّخْلِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ مِنَ السَّقْيِ مِنَ الْأَبْيَارِ لِشَهْرَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ بَيِّنْ» وَزَعَمُوا أَنَّ زَوْجَ الْمَرْأَةِ كَانَ حَمْشَ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ وَالسَّاقَيْنِ أَصْهَبَ الشَّعْرَةِ وَكَانَ الَّذِي رُمِيَتْ بِهِ ابْنَ السَّحْمَاءِ قَالَتْ فَجَاءَتْ بِغُلَامٍ أَسْوَدَ أَجْلَى جَعْدٍ قَطَطٍ عَبْلِ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ خَدَلَّجِ السَّاقَيْنِ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed the mutual imprecation (li'an) between al-Ajlani and his wife, and she was pregnant. Her husband said: 'By Allah, I have not come near her since the time of pollinating the palm trees' — al-'afr being the watering of palm trees after being left without water from the wells for two months. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, make it clear.' They claimed that the woman's husband was thin-armed and thin-legged with reddish-blonde hair, and the man she was accused with was Ibn al-Sahma'. She gave birth to a boy who was black, with a receding hairline, curly tight hair, thick arms, and plump legs.
