English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, a servant may be born a believer, live as a believer, and die a disbeliever. And a servant may be born a disbeliever, live as a disbeliever, and die a believer. A servant may act upon happiness for a period of his life, then what was decreed for him overtakes him, and he dies wretched. And a servant may act upon wretchedness for a period of his life, then what was decreed for him overtakes him, and he dies happy."
