Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10534 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ أَقْطَعَ الدُّورَ وَأَقْطَعَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فِيمَنْ أَقْطَعَ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَكِّبْهُ عَنَّا قَالَ «فَلِمَ بَعَثَنِي اللهُ إِذًا؟ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يُقَدِّسُ أُمَّةً لَا يُعْطُونَ الضَّعِيفَ مِنْهُمْ حَقَّهُ»
English Translation
Ibn Mas'ud said: "When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Madinah, he allocated housing plots, and he allocated one to Ibn Mas'ud among those he allocated to. His companions said: 'O Messenger of Allah, move him away from us.' He said: 'Then why did Allah send me? Indeed, Allah the Almighty does not sanctify a nation that does not give the weak among them their rights.'"
