نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، سَأَلَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَالْقَوَابِلَ فَقَالَ: قَالُوا:" لا تُسْتَبْرَأُ الْحُبْلَى فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ ثَلاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ"، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ، إِنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَعْجَبَهُ قَوْلُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ:" تُسْتَبْرَأُ بِثَلاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ".
English Translation
Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz asked the people of Madinah and the midwives, and they said: "A pregnant woman's istibraa cannot be completed in less than three months." Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz was pleased with the opinion of the people of Madinah that the istibraa is three months.

حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ نے مدینہ کے اہل علم اور دائیوں سے پوچھا، انہوں نے کہا:”حاملہ کا استبراء تین ماہ سے کم میں نہیں ہوتا۔“اور عمر بن عبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ کو یہ بات پسند آئی۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 3379]
