Arabic (Original)
نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِيأُمِّ الْوَلَدِ إِذَا مَاتَ عَنْهَا وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ:" إِنْ وَلَدَتْهُ حَيًّا فَنَفَقَتُهَا مِنْ نَصِيبِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مَيِّتًا فَمِنْ جَمِيعِ الْمَالِ".
English Translation
Al-Hasan al-Basri used to say regarding an umm al-walad whose master dies while she is pregnant: "If she gives birth to a living child, her maintenance comes from the child's share. If the child is stillborn, then from the entire estate."
Urdu Translation
حضرت حسن رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ اگر ام ولد نے زندہ بچہ جنا تو اس کا نفقہ اس بچے کے حصے سے ہے۔“اگر مردہ جنا تو سارا مال خرچ ہوگا۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 2569]
