Arabic (Original)
نا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: أنا خُصَيْفٌ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ , فِيالأَمَةِ تُطَلَّقُ ثُمَّ تُعْتَقُ وَهِيَ فِي الْعِدَّةِ، قَالَ:" تَسْتَأْنِفُ عِدَّةَ الْحُرَّةِ إِذَا كَانَتْ مِنْ تَطْلِيقَةٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِنْ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ فَقَدْ بَانَتْ تَعْتَدُّ ثَلاثَةَ قُرُوءٍ".
English Translation
Mujahid said: "If a slave-woman is divorced and then freed during the waiting period, she begins afresh the waiting period of a free woman if she was divorced once. If she was divorced twice, then she is irrevocably separated and observes three menstrual periods."
Urdu Translation
حضرت مجاہد رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں: باندی کو اگر طلاق دی جائے اور وہ عدت میں آزاد ہو جائے تو اگر طلاق ایک ہو تو آزاد عورت کی عدت گزارے۔ اگر دو ہوں تو رجوع نہ ہوگا اور آزاد عورت کی عدت گزارے گی۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 2446]
