Arabic (Original)
وعن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "لا تكثروا الكلام بغير ذكر الله، فإن كثرة الكلام بغير ذكر الله تعالى قسوة للقلب! وإن أبعد الناس من الله القلب القاسي". رواه الترمذي.
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "Do not indulge in excessive talk except when remembering Allah. Excessive talking without the Remembrance of Allah hardens the heart; and those who are the farthest from Allah are those whose hearts are hard."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ کے ذکر کے بغیر زیادہ بات نہ کرو کیونکہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذکر کے بغیر زیادہ بولنا دل کی سختی ہے! اور بے شک اللہ سے سب سے دور سخت دل والا ہے۔ (رواہ ترمذی)
