Arabic (Original)
وعنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أتى المقبرة فقال: "السلام عليكم دار قوم مؤمنين وإنا إن شاء الله بكم لاحقون، وددت أنا قد رأينا إخواننا" قالوا: أولسنا إخوانك يا رسول الله؟ قال: "أنتم أصحابي، وإخواننا الذين لم يأتوا بعد" قالوا: كيف تعرف من لم يأتِ بعد من أمتك يا رسول الله؟ فقال: "أرأيت لو أن رجلا له خيل غر محجلة بين ظهري خيل دهم بهم، ألا يعرف خيله ؟" قالوا بلى يا رسول الله، قال: فإنهم يأتون غرًا محجلين من الوضوء وأنا فرطهم على الحوض ((رواه مسلم)).
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went to the (Baqi') cemetery and said, "May you be secured from punishment, O dwellers of abode of the believers! We, if Allah wills, will follow you. I wish we see my brothers." The Companions said, "O Beloved Messenger of Allah! Are not we your brothers?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "You are my Companions, but my brothers are those who have not come into the world yet." They said; "O Beloved Messenger of Allah! How will you recognize those of your Ummah who are not born yet?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "Say, if a man has white-footed horses with white foreheads among horses which are pure black, will he not recognize his own horses?" They said; "Certainly, O Beloved Messenger of Allah!" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "They (my followers) will come with bright faces and white limbs because of Wudu'; and I will arrive at the Haud (Al-Kauthar) ahead of them.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم قبرستان تشریف لے گئے اور ارشاد فرمایا: 'تم پر سلام ہو اے مومنوں کی بستی والو، اور اِن شاء اللہ ہم بھی تم سے ملنے والے ہیں۔ میری خواہش ہے کہ کاش ہم اپنے بھائیوں کو دیکھ لیتے۔' صحابہ نے عرض کیا: کیا ہم آپ کے بھائی نہیں ہیں، یا رسول اللہ؟ ارشاد فرمایا: 'تم میرے ساتھی ہو، اور ہمارے بھائی وہ ہیں جو ابھی نہیں آئے (یعنی بعد میں آنے والے مسلمان)۔' صحابہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ اپنی اُمت میں سے ان لوگوں کو کیسے پہچانیں گے جو ابھی نہیں آئے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: 'بتاؤ اگر کسی شخص کے پاس سیاہ گھوڑوں میں سفید پیشانی اور سفید پاؤں والا گھوڑا ہو تو کیا وہ اسے نہیں پہچانے گا؟' عرض کیا: ضرور پہچانے گا۔ ارشاد فرمایا: 'وہ وضو کے نشانوں سے چمکتے چہروں اور ہاتھوں پاؤں کے ساتھ آئیں گے۔'
