Arabic (Original)
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رجلاً قال: يا رسول الله ، إني أريد أن أسافر فأوصني، قال: "عليك بتقوى الله، والتكبيرعلي كل شرف" فلما ولى الرجل قال: " اللهم اطو له البعد، وهون عليه السفر” ((رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن)).
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that a man said: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), I intend to set out on a journey, so counsel me." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "Fear Allah, and ascending towards the raised ground, you should recite: "Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest)." When the man turned away, he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "O Allah! Shorten the distance for him and make the journey easy for him." .
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں سفر کا ارادہ رکھتا ہوں مجھے نصیحت فرمائیے۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: تقویٰ اختیار کرو اور ہر بلندی پر اللہ اکبر کہو۔ جب وہ شخص مڑا تو آپ نے فرمایا: اے اللہ! اس کے لیے راستہ قریب فرما اور سفر آسان فرما۔ (ترمذی)
