Arabic (Original)
وعن أبى هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رجلاً قال: يا رسول الله إن لى قرابة أصلهم ويقطعونى، وأحسن إليهم ويسيئون إلى، وأحلم عنهم ويجهلون على! فقال: “لئن كنت كما قلت فكأنما تسفهم المل ولا يزال معك من الله تعالى ظهير عليهم ما دمت على ذلك” ((رواه مسلم)) وقد سبق شرحه في “باب صلة الأرحام”.
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that a man said to Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): "I have relatives with whom I try to maintain good relationship but they sever relations with me; whom I treat kindly but they treat me badly, with whom I am gentle but they are rough to me." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) replied, "If you are as you have said, then it is as though you are feeding them hot ashes and you will not be without a supporter against them from Allah, as long as you do so.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میرے رشتے دار ہیں جن سے میں صلہ رحمی کرتا ہوں مگر وہ تعلق توڑتے ہیں، میں ان کے ساتھ احسان کرتا ہوں مگر وہ بدسلوکی کرتے ہیں، میں ان سے حلم سے پیش آتا ہوں مگر وہ مجھ سے جہالت سے پیش آتے ہیں! آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم ایسے ہی ہو جیسا تم نے کہا تو گویا تم انہیں گرم راکھ کھلا رہے ہو، اور جب تک تم ایسا کرتے رہو گے اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے تمہارا ایک مددگار ان کے خلاف ہمیشہ رہے گا۔ (مسلم)
