Arabic (Original)
وعنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " بين النفختين أربعون" قالوا: يا أبا هريرة أربعون يوماً؟ قال: أبيت، قالوا: أربعون سنة؟ قال: أبيت، قالوا: أربعون شهراً؟ قال: أبيت" ويبلى كل شئ من الإنسان إلا عجب ذنبه، فيه يركب الخلق، ثم ينزل الله من السماء ماء، فينبتون كما ينبت البقل" ((متفق عليه)).
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) said:the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "Between the two Blowing of the Trumpet there will be an interval of forty." The people said, "O Hadrat Abu Hurairah! Do you mean forty days?" He said, "I cannot say anything." They said, "Do you mean forty years?" He said, "I cannot say anything." They said, "Do you mean forty months?" He said, "I cannot say anything. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) added: 'Everything of the human body will perish except the last coccyx bone (end part of the spinal cord), and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body. Then Allah will send down water from the sky and people will grow like green vegetables'.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: دو پھونکوں (صور) کے درمیان چالیس ہوں گے۔ لوگوں نے پوچھا: اے حضرت ابو ہریرہ! چالیس دن؟ فرمایا: میں کچھ نہیں کہہ سکتا۔ پوچھا: چالیس سال؟ فرمایا: میں کچھ نہیں کہہ سکتا۔ پوچھا: چالیس مہینے؟ فرمایا: میں کچھ نہیں کہہ سکتا۔ اور انسان کا سارا جسم گل جائے گا سوائے دُم کی ہڈی (عجب الذنب) کے، اسی سے دوبارہ پیدائش ہوگی، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ آسمان سے پانی نازل فرمائے گا تو لوگ سبزے کی طرح اُگ آئیں گے۔ (متفق علیہ)
