أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَسَنٍ، قَالَ قَدِمَ الْحَجَّاجُ فَسَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا وَجَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَالْعِشَاءَ أَحْيَانًا كَانَ إِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدْ أَبْطَئُوا أَخَّرَ .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Hasan (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "Al-Hajjaj arrived, and we asked Hadrat Jabir bin Hadrat 'Abdullah, who said: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed Zuhr at the time of intense heat, [1] and 'Asr when the sun was white and clear, and Maghrib when the sun set, and with 'Isha' it would depend - if he saw that the people had gathered, he would pray early, and if he saw that they had not come yet, he would delay it.'" [1] Meaning, at the earliest time
Urdu Translation
محمد بن عمرو بن حسن کہتے ہیں کہ حجاج آئے تو ہم نے حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ظہر دوپہر میں ( سورج ڈھلتے ہی ) پڑھتے تھے، اور عصر اس وقت پڑھتے جب سورج سفید اور صاف ہوتا، اور مغرب اس وقت پڑھتے جب سورج ڈوب جاتا، اور عشاء جب آپ دیکھتے کہ لوگ جمع ہو گئے ہیں تو جلدی پڑھ لیتے، اور جب دیکھتے کہ لوگ دیر کر رہے ہیں تو مؤخر کرتے۔
