Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الأَزْهَرِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَيْمَنَ، قَالَ لَمْ تُقْطَعِ الْيَدُ فِي زَمَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلاَّ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ وَقِيمَةُ الْمِجَنِّ يَوْمَئِذٍ دِينَارٌ .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Ayman (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "The hand of a thief was not be cut off during the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except for the value of a shield, and the value of a shield in those days was a Dinar." (Daif)
Urdu Translation
حضرت ایمن رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ہاتھ صرف ڈھال کی قیمت میں کاٹا جاتا تھا اور ڈھال کی قیمت اس وقت ایک دینار تھی۔
