Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ الأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِذَا تَوَاجَهَ الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَقَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا الْقَاتِلُ فَمَا بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ قَالَ " إِنَّهُ أَرَادَ قَتْلَ صَاحِبِهِ " .
English Translation
It is narrated that Hadrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) [SAW] say: 'If two Muslims confront each other with their swords and one of them kills the other, both the killer and the slain will be in Hell.'" They submitted: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), (we understand about) the killer, but what about the one who is killed?" He said: "He wanted to kill his companion
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو بکرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ارشاد فرماتے سنا: جب دو مسلمان تلواروں سے آمنے سامنے ہوں اور ایک دوسرے کو قتل کر دے تو قاتل اور مقتول دونوں جہنم میں ہیں۔ صحابہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ تو قاتل ہے، مقتول کا کیا حال ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: وہ بھی اپنے ساتھی کو قتل کرنا چاہتا تھا۔
