Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ شَيْبَانَ، قَالَ كُنَّا وُقُوفًا بِعَرَفَةَ مَكَانًا بَعِيدًا مِنَ الْمَوْقِفِ فَأَتَانَا ابْنُ مِرْبَعٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَيْكُمْ يَقُولُ " كُونُوا عَلَى مَشَاعِرِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ عَلَى إِرْثٍ مِنْ إِرْثِ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ " .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Amr bin Abdullah bin Safwan that Yazid bin Shaiban (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "We were standing in Arafat in a place far from the place of standing, and Ibn Mirba Al-Ansari came and said: 'I am the messenger of Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to you; he says: 'Stay where you are (for it is a place of ritual), for you are following the legacy of you father Ibrahim (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)
Urdu Translation
یزید بن شیبان کہتے ہیں کہ ہم عرفہ کے دن عرفات میں ”موقف“ ( ٹھہرنے کی خاص جگہ ) سے دور ٹھہرے ہوئے تھے۔ تو ہمارے پاس ابن مربع انصاری آئے اور کہنے لگے تمہاری طرف میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا قاصد ہوں، آپ فرماتے ہیں: تم اپنے مشاعر میں رہو کیونکہ تم اپنے باپ ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی میراث کے وارث ہو۔
