English Translation
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to me while I was ill and unconscious. He performed ablution, and the people poured the water of his ablution over me, so I regained consciousness. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about my estate? (The estate would be that of a person with no direct heir, kalalah.)" (The narrator Shu'bah) says: I asked Muhammad bin al-Munkadir: "Was this the verse 'They ask you for a ruling. Say: Allah gives you a ruling concerning kalalah' (An-Nisa: 176) (that was revealed)?" He said: "Yes, this very verse was revealed." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 996]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممیرے پاس آئے اور میں بیمار اور بیہوش تھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے وضو کیا تو لوگوں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے وضو کا پانی مجھ پر ڈالا تو مجھے ہوش آ گیا۔ میں نے عرض کی کہ یا رسول اللہ! میرا ترکہ؟ (ترکہ تو کلالہ کا ہو گا)۔ (راوی شعبہ) کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے محمد بن المنکدر سے پوچھا کہ کیا یہ آیت”فتویٰ پوچھتے ہیں تجھ سے کہہ دو اللہ فتویٰ دیتا ہے تم کو (مسئلہ) کلالہ میں۔“(النساء: 176) (نازل ہوئی تھی؟) انہوں نے کہا: ہاں! یہی آیت نازل ہوئی تھی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 996]
