English Translation
Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: My father (may Allah be pleased with him) gave me some of his wealth as a gift. My mother Amrah bint Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I will only be pleased with this if you make the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) a witness to it (to the gifting of this wealth)." So my father Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to make him a witness to this wealth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Have you given all your children the like (of this wealth)?" He said: "No." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Fear Allah and be just among your children." So my father went back and took back the gift. (Hibah means a present.) [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 990]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیرے والد رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنا کچھ مال مجھے ہبہ کیا۔ میری ماں عمرہ بنت رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ بولی کہ میں اس پر اس وقت خوش ہوں گی کہ تو اس (مال کے ہبہ کرنے) پر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو گواہ کر دے۔ میرے والد بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس اس مال پر گواہ بنانے کے لئے گئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ کیا تو نے اپنی سب اولاد کو ایسا ہی (مال) دیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا نہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ سے ڈرو اور اپنی اولاد میں انصاف کرو۔ پھر میرے والد واپس آئے اور وہ ہبہ واپس لیا۔ (ہبہ کا معنی تحفہ ہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 990]
