English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There are three persons to whom Allah the Exalted will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor look at them, nor purify them of sin, and for them is a painful punishment. First, a man who has water in the desert in excess of his need and withholds it from a traveler; second, a man who sells goods to another after the Asr (afternoon) and swears that he paid such-and-such a price for it, and the buyer believes him to be truthful, whereas he did not pay that price (i.e., he swore a false oath — and 'after Asr' is specified because it is a blessed time when the angels gather, or because it is the main time for buying and selling); and third, a man who pledges allegiance to a ruler out of desire for worldly gain, and if the ruler gives him some worldly wealth, he fulfills his pledge, but if he does not give it, he does not fulfill it (so this person, by pledging allegiance, deceived the Muslims, and they relied on his covenant, while he was only concerned with the world and cared nothing for the covenant)." Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تین شخص ایسے ہیں جن سے اللہ تعالیٰ قیامت کے دن نہ کلام کرے گا نہ ان کو دیکھے گا، نہ ان کو گناہ سے پاک کرے گا اور ان کے لئے بڑے درد کا عذاب ہے۔ ایک تو وہ شخص جو جنگل میں حاجت سے زیادہ پانی رکھتا ہو اور مسافر کو اس پانی سے روکتا ہو، دوسرا وہ شخص جس نے کسی کے ہاتھ کوئی مال عصر کے بعد بیچا اور قسم کھائی کہ میں نے اتنے پیسوں کا لیا ہے اور خریدار نے اس کی بات کو سچ سمجھا، حالانکہ اس نے اتنے پیسوں کا نہیں لیا تھا (یعنی جھوٹی قسم کھائی اور عصر کے بعد کی بات اس وجہ سے کہ وہ متبرک وقت ہے فرشتوں کے جمع ہونے کا یا وہ اصل وقت ہے خریدوفروخت کا) اور تیسرا وہ شخص جس نے امام سے دنیا کی طمع کے لئے بیعت کی۔ پھر اگر امام نے اس کو دنیا کا کچھ مال دیا تو اس نے اپنی بیعت پوری کی اور اگر نہ دیا تو پوری نہ کی (تو اس شخص نے بیعت کر کے مسلمانوں کو دھوکہ دیا اور وہ اس کے عہد کے بھروسے پر رہے اور یہ دنیا کی فکر میں تھا اسے عہد کی پرواہ نہ تھی)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 959]
