English Translation
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): When a man marries a virgin while he already has a previously-married woman (thayyib) in his marriage, he should stay with the virgin for seven days (and after that then assign turns), and when he marries a previously-married woman (thayyib) while he already has a virgin, he should stay with her for three days. Khalid (the narrator of the hadith) said: If I were to attribute this report to the Prophet (as marfu'), it would still be true, but Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said these words: The Sunnah is like this. Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہجب باکرہ سے نکاح کرے اور پہلے اس سے اس کے نکاح میں ثیبہ ہو، تو اس باکرہ کے پاس سات روز تک رہے (اور بعد اس کے پھر باری مقرر کرے) اور جب ثیبہ سے نکاح کرے جبکہ پہلے سے اس کے پاس باکرہ ہو تو اس کے پاس تین دن رہے۔ خالد (راوی حدیث) نے کہا کہا کہ اگر میں اس روایت کو مرفوع کہوں تو بھی سچ ہو گا مگر انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ الفاظ کہے تھے کہا کہ سنت اسی طرح ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 840]
