Narrated by'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar
English Translation
Narrated 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said — and he (peace be upon him) was at that time on the pulpit mentioning charity and abstaining from asking of anyone — he (peace be upon him) said: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand; the upper hand is the one that spends and the lower hand is the one that begs."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم(اس وقت) منبر پر صدقہ کا اور کسی سے سوال نہ کرنے کا ذکر کر رہے تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اوپر کا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے اور اوپر کا ہاتھ خرچ کرنے والا ہے اور نیچے کا ہاتھ مانگنے والا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 560]
