English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: There is no owner of silver or gold who does not give its zakat but that on the Day of Resurrection he will be such that plates of fire will be made for him, and they will be heated in the Fire of Hell, and with them his forehead, his side and his back will be branded. When they cool, they will be heated again. At that time, when a day is equal to fifty thousand years, this punishment will continue upon him until the judgment of the servants, and until his path comes out towards Paradise or Hell. It was said to him: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Then what will be the state of (owners of) camels? He said: Any camel-owner who does not give the due of his camels, and one of their dues is that he milk them and give the milk to the poor to drink on the day they are watered (it was the custom of the Arabs that on the third or fourth day they would take the camels to be watered; there the poor would gather, and the owners of the camels would milk them and give it to them to drink; although this is not obligatory, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, made it a due of the camels)—when the Day of Resurrection comes, he will be laid face down on a flat land, and those camels will come extremely fat, so that not one young one among them will be left, and they will trample him with their hooves and bite him with their mouths. Then, when the first of them has passed trampling him, the last will come. Thus the punishment will continue forever throughout the day, which will be fifty thousand years, until the judgment of the servants is done, and then some path towards Paradise or Hell comes out for him. Then it was said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! What will be the state of cattle and sheep? He said: There is no owner of cattle and sheep who does not give their zakat but that when the Day of Resurrection comes, he will be laid face down on a flat land, and all those cattle and sheep will come, not one remaining, and they will be such that among them there will be none with twisted horns, nor any hornless, nor any with broken horns, and they will come and gore him with their horns and trample him with their hooves. When the first has passed over him, the last will come again. This same punishment will continue upon him throughout the day of fifty thousand years, until the judgment of the servants is done, and then some path towards Paradise or Hell comes out for him. Then it was said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! And horses? He said: Horses are of three kinds: one is a burden (that is, a source of sin) upon its owner, another is a covering for its owner's shortcomings, and the third is a means of reward for its owner. Now hear the state of that burdensome horse, which is kept in order to show off to people, to make a display among people, and out of enmity towards the Muslims: this is a burden upon its owner. And the one that is a covering of shortcomings is the horse that is kept in the path of Allah (that is, for jihad), and its owner does not forget Allah's due in its keeping and does not stint in its grass and fodder: this is a covering of his shortcomings. And as for the one that is a means of reward, what can be said of it—it is the horse that is kept in the path of Allah and for the aid and support of the people of Islam in some pasture or garden. Then, whatever it eats from that pasture or garden, good deeds are recorded for its owner in proportion to it, and even its dung and urine are recorded among good deeds. And when it breaks its long rope and climbs up one or two hillocks, good deeds are recorded in proportion to its steps and its dung. And when its owner passes by a stream and the horse drinks from it, even though the owner had no intention of giving it to drink, even then good deeds are recorded for him in proportion to the drops it has drunk. (This reward is for drinking water unintentionally; then when he takes it with the intention of giving it to drink, how much reward will he not receive!) Then it was said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Describe the state of the donkey. So he said: Nothing has been revealed to me concerning donkeys except this verse, which is unmatched and comprehensive: "Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it (on the Day of Resurrection), and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will also see it." سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کوئی چاندی یا سونے کا مالک ایسا نہیں کہ اس کی زکوٰۃ نہ دیتا ہو مگر وہ قیامت کے دن ایسا ہو گا کہ اس کیلئے آگ کی چٹانوں کے پرت بنائے جائیں گے اور وہ جہنم کی آگ میں گرم کئے جائیں گے جس سے اس کی پیشانی، پہلو اور پیٹھ داغی جائے گی۔ جب وہ ٹھنڈے ہو جائیں گے تو پھر گرم کئے جائیں گے۔ اس وقت جبکہ دن پچاس ہزار برس کے برابر ہے، بندوں کا فیصلہ ہونے تک اس کو یہی عذاب ہو گا اور یہاں تک کہ اس کی راہ جنت یا دوزخ کی طرف نکلے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کیا گیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! پھر اونٹ (والوں) کا کیا حال ہو گا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جو اونٹ والا اپنے اونٹوں کا حق نہیں دیتا اور اس کے حق میں سے ایک یہ بھی ہے کہ دودھ دوھ کر غریبوں کو بھی پلائے جس دن ان کو پانی پلائے (عرب کا معمول تھا کہ تیسرے یا چوتھے دن اونٹوں کو پانی پلانے لے جاتے وہاں مسکین جمع رہتے اونٹوں کے مالک ان کو دودھ دوھ کر پلاتے حالانکہ یہ واجب نہیں ہے مگر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اونٹوں کا ایک حق اس کو بھی قرار دیا ہے) جب قیامت کا دن ہو گا تو وہ ایک ہموار زمین پر اوندھا لٹایا جائے گا اور وہ اونٹ نہایت فربہ ہو کر آئیں گے کہ ان میں سے کوئی بچہ بھی باقی نہ رہے گا اور اس کو اپنے کھروں سے روندیں گے اور منہ سے کاٹیں گے۔ پھر جب ان کا پہلا جانور روندتا چلا جائے گا تو پچھلا آ جائے گا۔ یونہی سدا عذاب ہوتا رہے گا سارا دن جو کہ پچاس ہزار برس کا ہو گا یہاں تک کہ بندوں کا فیصلہ ہو جائے اور پھر اس کی جنت یا دوزخ کی طرف کچھ راہ نکلے۔ پھر عرض کیا گیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! گائے بکری کا کیا حال ہو گا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کوئی گائے بکری والا ایسا نہیں جو اس کی زکوٰۃ نہ دیتا ہو مگر جب قیامت کا دن ہو گا تو وہ ایک ہموار زمین پر اوندھا لٹایا جائے گا اور ان گائے بکریوں میں سے سب آئیں گی، کوئی باقی نہ رہے گی اور ایسی ہوں گی کہ ان میں سینگ مڑی ہوئی نہ ہوں گی نہ بے سینگ اور نہ ٹوٹے ہوئے سینگوں والی اور آ کر اس کو اپنے سینگوں سے ماریں گی اور اپنے کھروں سے روندیں گی۔ جب اگلی اس پر سے گزر جائے گی تو پچھلی پھر آئے گی، یہی عذاب اس کو پچاس ہزار برس کے سارے دن میں ہوتا رہے گا یہاں تک کہ بندوں کا فیصلہ ہو جائے اور پھر جنت یا دوزخ کی طرف اس کی کوئی راہ نکلے۔ پھر عرض کیا گیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! اور گھوڑے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ گھوڑے تین طرح کے ہیں ایک اپنے مالک پر بار (یعنی وبال) ہے، دوسرا اپنے مالک کا عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے اور تیسرا اپنے مالک کیلئے ثواب کا سامان ہے۔ اب اس وبال والے گھوڑے کا حال سنو جو اس لئے باندھا گیا ہے کہ لوگوں کو دکھائے اور لوگوں میں بڑھکیں مارے اور مسلمانوں سے عداوت کرے، سو یہ اپنے مالک کے حق میں وبال ہے۔ اور وہ جو عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے وہ گھوڑا ہے کہ اس کو اللہ کی راہ میں باندھا ہے (یعنی جہاد کے لئے) اور اس کی سواری میں اللہ کا حق نہیں بھولتا اور نہ اس کے گھاس چارہ میں کمی کرتا ہے، تو وہ اس کا عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے۔ اور جو ثواب کا سامان ہے اس کا کیا کہنا کہ وہ گھوڑا ہے جو اللہ کی راہ میں اور اہل اسلام کی مدد اور حمایت کے لئے کسی چراگاہ یا باغ میں باندھا گیا ہے۔ پھر اس نے اس چراگاہ یا باغ سے جو کھایا اس کی گنتی کے موافق نیکیاں اس کے مالک کے لئے لکھی گئیں اور اس کی لید اور پیشاب تک نیکیوں میں لکھا گیا۔ اور جب وہ اپنی لمبی رسی توڑ کر ایک دو ٹیلوں پر چڑھ جاتا ہے تو اس کے قدموں اور اس کی لید کی گنتی کے موافق نیکیاں لکھی جاتی ہیں۔ اور جب اس کا مالک کسی ندی پر سے گزرے اور وہ گھوڑا اس میں سے پانی پی لیتا ہے اگرچہ مالک کا پلانے کا ارادہ بھی نہ تھا، تب بھی اس کے لئے ان قطروں کے موافق نیکیاں لکھی جاتی ہیں جو اس نے پئے ہیں۔ (یہ ثواب تو بے ارادہ پانی پی لینے میں ہے پھر جب پانی پلانے کے ارادہ سے لے جائے تو کیا کچھ ثواب نہ پائے گا) پھر عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! اور گھوڑے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ گھوڑے تین طرح کے ہیں ایک اپنے مالک پر بار (یعنی وبال) ہے، دوسرا اپنے مالک کا عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے اور تیسرا اپنے مالک کیلئے ثواب کا سامان ہے۔ اب اس وبال والے گھوڑے کا حال سنو جو اس لئے باندھا گیا ہے کہ لوگوں کو دکھائے اور لوگوں میں بڑھکیں مارے اور مسلمانوں سے عداوت کرے، سو یہ اپنے مالک کے حق میں وبال ہے۔ اور وہ جو عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے وہ گھوڑا ہے کہ اس کو اللہ کی راہ میں باندھا ہے (یعنی جہاد کے لئے) اور اس کی سواری میں اللہ کا حق نہیں بھولتا اور نہ اس کے گھاس چارہ میں کمی کرتا ہے، تو وہ اس کا عیب ڈھانپنے والا ہے۔ اور جو ثواب کا سامان ہے اس کا کیا کہنا کہ وہ گھوڑا ہے جو اللہ کی راہ میں اور اہل اسلام کی مدد اور حمایت کے لئے کسی چراگاہ یا باغ میں باندھا گیا ہے۔ پھر اس نے اس چراگاہ یا باغ سے جو کھایا اس کی گنتی کے موافق نیکیاں اس کے مالک کے لئے لکھی گئیں اور اس کی لید اور پیشاب تک نیکیوں میں لکھا گیا۔ اور جب وہ اپنی لمبی رسی توڑ کر ایک دو ٹیلوں پر چڑھ جاتا ہے تو اس کے قدموں اور اس کی لید کی گنتی کے موافق نیکیاں لکھی جاتی ہیں۔ اور جب اس کا مالک کسی ندی پر سے گزرے اور وہ گھوڑا اس میں سے پانی پی لیتا ہے اگرچہ مالک کا پلانے کا ارادہ بھی نہ تھا، تب بھی اس کے لئے ان قطروں کے موافق نیکیاں لکھی جاتی ہیں جو اس نے پئے ہیں۔ (یہ ثواب تو بے ارادہ پانی پی لینے میں ہے پھر جب پانی پلانے کے ارادہ سے لے جائے تو کیا کچھ ثواب نہ پائے گا) پھر عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! گدھے کا حال بیان فرمائیے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ گدھوں کے بارے میں میرے اوپر کوئی حکم نہیں اترا سوائے اس آیت کے جو بے مثل اور جمع کرنے والی ہے کہ”جس نے ذرہ کے برابر نیکی کی وہ اسے (قیامت کے دن) دیکھ لے گا اور جس نے ذرہ برابر بدی کی وہ بھی اسے دیکھ لے گا“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 507]
