English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) (narrating from the Prophet, peace be upon him) said: When the soul of a believer departs from the body, two angels come to it and take it up to the heaven. Hammad (the narrator of the hadith) said that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) also mentioned the fragrance of that soul and of musk, and said that the dwellers of the heaven (the angels) say: A pure soul has come from the earth; may Allah have mercy upon you and upon the body you kept inhabited. Then they take it to the Lord of the worlds, and the Lord of the worlds says: Take it (to its place, that is, to Illiyyun, where the souls of the believers reside) until the Day of Resurrection (keep it there). And when the soul of a disbeliever departs (the narrator of the hadith) Hammad said that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned its stench and the curse upon it, that the dwellers of the heaven say: An impure soul has come from the earth. Then the command is given: Take it (to its place, Sijjin, where the souls of the disbelievers reside) until the Resurrection comes. Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) took a thin garment that he was wearing (when he mentioned the soul of the disbeliever, to describe its stench), put it over his nose, and demonstrating said: Like this. Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ (نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے بیان کرتے ہوئے) کہتے ہیں کہجب ایماندار کی روح بدن سے نکلتی ہے تو اس کے آگے دو فرشتے آتے ہیں اور اس کو آسمان پر چڑھا لے جاتے ہیں۔ حماد (راوی حدیث) نے کہا کہ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس روح کی خوشبو کا اور مشک کا ذکر بھی کیا اور کہا کہ آسمان والے (فرشتے) کہتے ہیں کہ کوئی پاک روح زمین کی طرف سے آئی ہے، اللہ تجھ پر رحمت کرے اور تیرے بدن پر جس کو تو نے آباد رکھا۔ پھر رب العالمین کے پاس اس کو لے جاتے ہیں۔ پھر رب العالمین فرماتا ہے کہ اس کو لے جاؤ (اپنے مقام میں یعنی علیّین میں جہاں مومنوں کی ارواح رہتی ہیں) قیامت تک (وہیں رکھو) اور کافر کی روح جب نکلتی ہے (راوی حدیث) حماد نے کہا کہ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کی بدبو اور اس پر لعنت کا ذکر کیا، کہ آسمان والے کہتے ہیں کہ کوئی ناپاک روح زمین کی طرف سے آئی ہے۔ پھر حکم ہوتا ہے کہ اس کو لے جاؤ (اپنے مقام سجین میں جہاں کافروں کی روحیں رہتی ہیں) قیامت ہونے تک۔ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک باریک کپڑا جو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماوڑھے ہوئے تھے (جب کافر کی روح کا ذکر کیا اس کی بدبو بیان کرنے کو) اپنی ناک پر ڈال کر دکھاتے ہوئے فرمایا کہ اس طرح سے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 458]
