English Translation
The Mother of the Believers Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: There was a solar eclipse in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so he stood in prayer and prolonged the standing for a very long time. Then he bowed and made the bowing very long. Then he raised his head and remained standing for a long time, and prolonged the standing greatly, but less than the first standing. Then he bowed and made the bowing long, but less than the first bowing. Then he prostrated. (This was two bowings in one rak'ah, and this is the position of Imam al-Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him.) Then he stood and remained standing for a long time, but less than the first standing. Then he bowed and made the bowing long, but less than the first bowing. Then he raised his head and remained standing for a long time, but less than the first standing. Then he bowed and made the bowing long, but less than the first bowing (this too was two bowings). Then he prostrated and finished, and by then the sun had cleared. Then he delivered a sermon to the people and praised and glorified Allah and said: The sun and the moon are among the signs of Allah, and they are not eclipsed because of anyone's death or life. So when you see an eclipse, proclaim the greatness of Allah, supplicate to Him, pray, and give charity. O ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him)! There is none more jealous than Allah regarding His male slave or female slave committing adultery. O ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him)! By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much. Listen! Have I not conveyed the command of Allah? [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 445]

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے دور میں سورج گرہن ہوا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنماز میں کھڑے ہوئے اور بہت دیر تک قیام کیا۔ پھر رکوع کیا اور بہت لمبا رکوع کیا۔ پھر سر اٹھایا اور دیر تک کھڑے رہے اور بہت قیام کیا مگر پہلے قیام سے کم، پھر رکوع کیا اور لمبا رکوع کیا مگر پہلے رکوع سے کم، پھر سجدہ کیا (یہ ایک رکعت میں دو رکوع ہوئے اور امام شافعی رحمہ اللہ کا یہی مذہب ہے) پھر کھڑے ہوئے اور دیر تک قیام کیا مگر پہلے قیام سے کم، پھر رکوع کیا اور لمبا رکوع کیا مگر پہلے رکوع سے کم، پھر سر اٹھایا اور دیر تک کھڑے رہے مگر پہلے قیام سے کم، پھر رکوع کیا اور لمبا رکوع کیا مگر پہلے رکوع سے کم (یہ بھی دو رکوع ہوئے) پھر سجدہ کیا اور فارغ ہوئے اور آفتاب اتنے میں کھل گیا تھا۔ پھر لوگوں پر خطبہ پڑھا اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد و ثنا کی اور فرمایا کہ سورج اور چاند اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ہیں اور انہیں گرہن کسی کی موت اور زندگی کی وجہ سے نہیں لگتا۔ پھر جب تم گرہن دیکھو تو اللہ کی بڑائی بیان کرو اور اس سے دعا کرو اور نماز پڑھو اور خیرات کرو۔ اے امت محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)! اللہ سے بڑھ کر کوئی غیرت والا نہیں اس بات میں کہ اس کا غلام یا باندی زنا کرے۔ اے امت محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)! اللہ کی قسم! جو میں جانتا ہوں اگر تم جانتے ہوتے تو بہت روتے اور تھوڑا ہنستے۔ سن لو! کیا میں نے اللہ کا حکم پہنچا نہیں دیا؟[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 445]
