English Translation
Narrated Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever fears that he will not be able to get up in the last part of the night, let him pray the Witr in the early part of the night (after Isha); and whoever hopes that he will get up in the last part of the night, let him pray the Witr in the last part of the night, for the prayer of the last part of the night is one at which the angels are present, and this is more excellent." Urdu Translation
سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جس کو اس بات کا خوف ہو کہ آخر شب میں نہ اٹھ سکے گا تو اول شب میں (عشاء کے بعد) وتر پڑھ لے۔ اور جس کو امید ہو کہ آخر شب میں اٹھے گا تو چاہئے کہ وتر آخر شب میں پڑھے، اس لئے کہ شب کی نماز ایسی ہے کہ اس میں فرشتے حاضر ہوتے ہیں اور یہ افضل ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 393]
