Narrated bythe Mother of the Believers, Aishah as-Siddiqah
English Translation
Narrated the Mother of the Believers, Aishah as-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): I never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reciting while sitting in the night prayer, until, when he grew old, he would recite while sitting; then when about thirty or forty verses of the chapter remained, he would stand up and recite, then bow. Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو رات کی نماز میں بیٹھ کر قرآت کرتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا۔ پھر جب بوڑھے ہو گئے تو بیٹھے بیٹھے قرآت کرتے، یہاں تک کہ جب سورت کی تیس یا چالیس آیتیں رہ جاتیں تو کھڑے ہو کر پڑھتے، پھر رکوع کرتے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 384]
